Early Life

Amy Schumer was born on June 1, 1981, in Manhattan. She grew up on Long Island, New York. Her mother, Sandra Schumer, worked as a speech therapist, while her father, Gordon Schumer, worked in a baby furniture shop.

She has a sister named Kim Caramele, a comedy writer and producer, and a half-brother named Jason Stein, a jazz musician. When Amy was nine, her family’s business went out of business; her father became ill.
